Final Project 5

For the final project I've decided to continue focussing on the idea of flattening the human body to appear as a hide. For project 4 I did this as well but just focused on the torso region of the body. For project 5 I will push further and experiment with the flattening of the face, back, legs and arms.

  1. I think something that could push this is post printing manipulation. We are all aware of your love for the abject, so it might be interesting to do some abject things to an image once its printed out.

  2. I think it's going to look weird and creepy in a good way. think it would be cool do to each region of the body on a different piece of paper and then present them pieced together. Sort of like a flayed frankenstein thing

  3. There was an haunting kind of elegance to your image in class Monday that I was really drawn to, so I'm really excited to see what you do with this.

  4. Glad to see you explore this idea further. Just make sure not to draw too much influence from that artist you showed us. Maybe take his concepts and employ them in different ways? I often have trouble escaping my idols' images.

  5. I think this concept could be very strong presented in a series or triptic-like format with different areas of the body or, similar elements of different bodies.

  6. I like that you are taking it away from just the torso, but I would also love to see you take your idea further.

  7. I agree with Matt in that this would be a great idea for a series. I even think you could do several body parts and lay them out as if a person were hanging from a wall.

  8. This is interesting. I think you could push how abstract the human form looks flattened out and make it really cool

  9. This is a great continuation of your other idea.
Maybe trying flattening multiple people's forms into one? That might add an interesting twist to it.

  10. I would love to see you add hair/other abjections from the human body on top of the print or used as a scanogram layer with it. I would keep in mind how the body's skin would actually look as a hide (size-wise) since it's about flattening the body.
